The education ministry on Wednesday gave new directive for police verification in appointing teachers at entry level in the non-government educational institutions.

Following the new directive, from now on the Non-Government Teachers Registration and Certification Authority will send the police verification forms directly to the Special Branch of Bangladesh Police

Earlier the authority sent these forms to the Security Service Division under the home ministry.

It also read that if any of the primarily selected candidates did not submit the form they would not be considered for recommendation for the appointment.

The Secondary and Higher Education Division under the education ministry on Wednesday issued a circular, signed by the division’s senior secretary Siddique Zobair in this regard on its website.

As per the circular, the directive would immediately take effect.

The government formed the NTRCA in 2005 to provide certificates to aspiring teachers of the non-government secondary level schools, higher secondary level colleges, degree colleges and equivalent madrassahs and technical educational institutions based on examinations it conducted,.

From the 1st to the 17th batches so far, the authority provided 6,76,662 certificates.

From the 13th batch, the NTRCA got the responsibility to recommend aspiring teachers to these educational institutions against their vacant positions.
